A long-term investigation culminated in the arrest of two individuals allegedly at the center of a significant narcotics distribution network operating in Florida.

The operation, named “Operation Tooth Fairy,” targeted 41-year-old Julianne C. Perez, known among users as the “Candyman,” and 28-year-old Dillon James Clark in Martin County.

Detectives with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Section identified Perez and Clark as major distributors of a range of dangerous narcotics, including fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamines.

Shockingly, investigators discovered that Perez allegedly packaged fentanyl in small folds designed to resemble candy wrappers and even dyed the potent opioid in bright colors, a disturbing tactic to further disguise the deadly substance.

According to authorities, Perez demonstrated a chilling awareness of the danger her product posed, reportedly admitting that it was “strong enough to kill.” Subsequent laboratory testing of the seized narcotics confirmed the presence of xylazine and para-fluorofentanyl, substances known to be even more lethal than fentanyl itself.

The investigation revealed that Perez had cultivated a consistent customer base within Martin County, with individuals frequently observed waiting outside her residence to purchase drugs.

When detectives executed a search warrant at her home, Perez allegedly attempted to conceal narcotics in her private areas in a desperate effort to evade detection. Despite this attempt, law enforcement officers successfully recovered trafficking amounts of various narcotics.

Following the discovery, Perez reportedly admitted to her involvement in drug trafficking activities.

Clark’s alleged role in the distribution network was also significant, though specific details of his involvement were not immediately released.

Over the course of “Operation Tooth Fairy,” authorities successfully seized and removed a substantial quantity of dangerous drugs from the streets of Martin County, including:

  • 278.6 grams of fentanyl
  • 83.2 grams of cocaine
  • 136.4 grams of methamphetamines
  • 42 oxycodone pills

Following her arrest, Perez was booked into the Martin County Jail after receiving medical clearance. Clark was also taken into custody, and both individuals are expected to face significant drug trafficking charges.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office released a statement praising the dedication and effectiveness of their Special Investigations Section.

“This case underscores the outstanding work of our detectives in targeting those who flood our streets with deadly drugs and dismantling dangerous networks within our community,” the statement read. “The apprehension of these individuals, particularly someone who intentionally disguised fentanyl in such a deceptive and dangerous manner, is a significant step in our ongoing efforts to protect the residents of Martin County.”
