HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – In a joint effort to ensure compliance with Florida’s registration laws for sex offenders and predators, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), and the Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole conducted Operation Full Moon.
The three-day initiative focused on verifying that registered sexual offenders and predators in Hillsborough County adhered to legal requirements.
During the operation, authorities made physical contact with 70 registrants, resulting in 27 arrests for various violations of registration and probation laws.

Notable Arrests:
- Jorge Caez, 46: Charged with transmitting harmful material to a minor and violating sex offender probation conditions.
- Ankit Shingala, 25: Arrested for possession of a controlled substance and 10 counts of probation violations.
- Eleven additional registrants were arrested for failing to report required information such as residential addresses or vehicle details.

The FDLE’s Enforcement and Investigative Support Bureau, alongside crime intelligence analysts, worked with HCSO investigators and the Florida Department of Corrections to execute this operation. All suspects were booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
Florida’s registration laws mandate that sex offenders and predators report critical information, including residential addresses, vehicle details, and internet identifiers, to local authorities. FDLE’s Enforcement and Investigative Support Unit collaborates statewide to ensure compliance.
