ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – St. Petersburg Police are investigating a fatal traffic crash at 5th Avenue and 49th Street North.
According to police, at 9:51 a.m., a red Ford Mustang driven by Dominic Dangelo, Largo, and with passenger, Edward Feist, was traveling southbound on 49th Street North, approaching the intersection of 5th Avenue North.
A black Ford Excursion driven by Maxx Duren, St. Pete, and with a child passenger, was northbound on 49th Street North, approaching the intersection of 5th Avenue North.
Dangelo attempted to make a left turn onto 5th Avenue North and into the path of Duren, causing the crash.
The passenger, Feist, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were transported with minor injuries.
Dangelo was arrested for DUI.
At this time, the investigation is still ongoing. The roadway was closed during the investigation for several hours and was re-opened.
