LAKELAND, Fla. – One of the two suspects wanted in connection with the theft of two black swans and their eggs from a Lakeland mobile home park is now in custody. Alfredo Casanova, 29, turned himself in at the Polk County Jail early Wednesday morning.
Casanova was wanted on charges of felony burglary and grand theft for his alleged role in the theft of the swans and their eggs from the Highland Village Mobile Home Park on February 13th. The swans and their eggs were recovered in Miami-Dade County and returned to their home in Lakeland on Monday.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about Jordan Montoya, the second suspect’s whereabouts, to contact their Agricultural Crimes detectives at 863-534-7205 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday) or 863-298-6200 anytime.
