One early Sunday morning police chase was slow, yet steady, and the pursuit was not of a normal suspect.

According to investigators, around 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Ocala Police Officer Bellamy was greeted by a large horse while she was parked at Ollie’s Bargain Outlet to write a report.

The horse led officers on a brief chase along SR 200, and the pursuit ended, police say.

Officers were able to safely corral the horse in the parking lot of the College of Central Florida.

Police say the Marion County Sheriff’s Office Agricultural Unit responded with a trailer to transport the horse to more suitable pastures.
