LAKELAND, Fla. – A shooting outside the Cali Rose 15 Kitchen (formerly Rush Hour Bar & Grill) on Ariana Street late Thursday night left one man dead and another injured, according to the Lakeland Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire at 1323 Ariana Street at approximately 9:31 p.m. on April 24, 2025. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals, identified as Jesse Banks, 28, of Lakeland, and Nicholas Lue, 26, of West Palm Beach, suffering from gunshot wounds.

Both men were immediately transported to Lakeland Regional Health for medical treatment. Tragically, despite the efforts of medical staff, Jesse Banks was pronounced deceased. Nicholas Lue was stabilized and remains hospitalized with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Preliminary investigation, including witness statements and collected evidence, indicates that Banks and Lue initiated a verbal altercation with Tre D ‘Shon Huntly, 24, of Lakeland, just outside the restaurant’s front entrance. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation when Banks allegedly struck Huntly in the head with his fist.
According to detectives, a male individual who was inside the restaurant near the front door opened the door in defense of Huntly. Banks and Lue then reportedly turned their aggression towards this individual, produced a handgun, and pointed it at him. At this point, Huntly allegedly produced his own handgun and fired several shots at Banks and Lue.
