Oldsmar Woman Dies Following Three-Vehicle Crash In Clearwater; Roads Reopened

CLEARWATER, Fla. – April 16, 2025 – A 77-year-old woman from Oldsmar has died from injuries sustained in a three-vehicle crash that occurred earlier today in Clearwater.

The crash happened shortly after noon on the U.S. 19 access road at Countryside Boulevard. According to Clearwater Police, the woman was driving a Lincoln Town Car northbound on the access road when it collided with a Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep had been traveling southbound on the access road and was attempting to make a left turn onto Countryside Boulevard. One of the vehicles involved in the initial collision then struck a third vehicle.

The driver of the Lincoln was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital, where she later died. Her passenger, identified as her 79-year-old husband, was taken to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg and is currently listed in stable condition.

No other injuries were reported in the incident.

All lanes of Countryside Boulevard under the U.S. 19 overpass, which were closed immediately following the crash, have since been reopened to traffic.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Clearwater Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them at 727-562-4242.


ORIGINAL REPORT: Emergency crews were on the scene of a serious injury crash that occurred early this afternoon on Countryside Boulevard.

Clearwater Police officers and Clearwater Fire & Rescue personnel were dispatched shortly after 12:00 PM today to the crash site located beneath the U.S. 19 overpass on Countryside Boulevard.

Upon arrival, first responders found at least one person suffering from serious injuries. Paramedics provided immediate medical attention before transporting the individual to Mease Countryside Hospital for further treatment. The current condition of the injured person has not been released.

As a result of the incident and the ongoing investigation, authorities closed all lanes of Countryside Boulevard in the vicinity of the U.S. 19 overpass. All lanes have since been reopened.

The cause of the crash remains under active investigation by the Clearwater Police Department. No further details regarding the circumstances of the collision have been made available at this time.
