Oldsmar Mother Arrested For Murder Of 3-Month-Old Child

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A 26-year-old Oldsmar woman has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her 3-month-old child.  

Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call on December 13th, 2024, at a residence on Meriden Avenue in Oldsmar, where they found an unresponsive 3-month-old infant. The child was transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

An investigation by the Crimes Against Children Unit revealed that the child had suffered multiple brain bleeds and a skull fracture. The Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death as blunt head trauma.

Detectives determined that the child was in the care of her mother, Tess Britt, on the day the fatal injuries occurred.

After a thorough investigation, Britt was arrested on Thursday and charged with Murder in the First Degree.

Britt is currently being held in the Pinellas County Jail.
