GALLIA COUNTY, Ohio – A 22-year-old woman was arrested on June 9, 2024, for allegedly forcing her two young children to stay in a scalding bath, causing severe burns and seizures in one child.
On June 6, Gallia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call regarding a child having a seizure.
Upon arrival, they discovered a 5-year-old girl with significant burns on her body. The child was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Investigators determined that Malynda Harrison, the children’s mother, had intentionally held the 5-year-old and her 4-year-old sibling in a bathtub filled with hot water, refusing to let them out.

She is currently being held in the Gallia County Jail. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
