POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Hernando man was arrested Monday evening in Polk County after admitting to driving a stolen truck.
47-year-old Sean Deere was spotted by a Polk County Sheriff’s deputy at a 7-Eleven gas station in Davenport around 8:15 p.m. The deputy recognized the gray 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 as a vehicle reported stolen earlier that day in Sumter County.
When the deputy approached Deere, who was standing next to the truck, Deere reportedly confessed, “I’m going to tell you, this car is stolen.”

According to the deputies, Deere thought he was either in Marion or Citrus County, and when he saw the side of a patrol car, he said, “Oh Sh*t, I’m in Polk.”
Deere was arrested and found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. He was also in violation of probation for a previous domestic battery by strangulation charge.
He was booked into the Polk County Jail on charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of probation.
