Ocala Man’s Threat To Congresswoman Earns Him 33 Months In Prison

OCALA, Fla. – Michael Guy Dambrosia, 61, of Ocala, has been sentenced to 33 months in federal prison for making a threatening voicemail to a U.S. Congresswoman and lying on a firearm application.

Dambrosia pleaded guilty to the charges in February 2024.

Court documents reveal that on January 30, 2023, Dambrosia left an obscenity-filled voicemail at the Washington D.C. office of a Congresswoman, stating his intent to kill her. In addition, on August 30, 2021, Dambrosia attempted to purchase a firearm, falsely claiming on the paperwork that he was not a convicted felon.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Capitol Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Joe Wheeler III and Assistant U.S. Attorney Tyrie Boyer.
