Ocala Man Pleads Guilty To Attempted Enticement Of A Minor

OCALA, Fla. – Rickey Lee Miller, Jr., 45, of Ocala, has pleaded guilty to attempting to entice a minor into sexual activity. Miller faces a minimum of 10 years and up to life in federal prison. The sentencing date is pending.

Court documents reveal that on July 27, 2024, Miller engaged in sexually explicit conversations with an undercover detective from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office who was posing as a 15-year-old girl online.

Miller even suggested a sexual encounter with himself and a female friend, asking the “girl” to lie about her age. He was arrested when he arrived at the prearranged meeting location.

The case was investigated by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Ocala Police Department, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Chiefland Police Department, and Homeland Security Investigations. It is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sarah Janette Swartzberg.
