SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A 62-year-old Ocala man was fatally injured early this morning after being struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross CR-475.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 AM on February 9, 2025, north of CR-466. A GMC pickup truck, driven by a 39-year-old Summerfield man, was traveling northbound on CR-475. Behind the pickup truck, also traveling northbound, was an Acura sedan driven by a 35-year-old man from The Villages.

A pedestrian walking along the shoulder of the roadway attempted to cross CR-475 and entered the path of the pickup truck. He was struck by the truck and then subsequently struck by the Acura sedan.
Both drivers remained at the scene and neither sustained any injuries. The pedestrian, a 62-year-old Ocala man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
