Earlier this month the New York City Police Department released its monthly crime stats.
The report compared April’s numbers to those of April 2020. Here’s a look: The overall index crime jumped 30.4 percent, while among individual crimes, shootings skyrocketed by 166.1 percent; murders up 15.8 percent; rapes jumped by 52.8 percent; felony assaults rose 35.6 percent; robberies increased 28.6 percent.
Yet for the sake of New Yorkers, thank goodness Mayor Bill de Blasio knows where to root out the crooks: at a Yankees game.
According to The Blaze, two men at the New York Yankees game Thursday night unfurled a huge banner that proclaimed “Trump Won, Save America,” and hung it over the second deck behind first base. The incident occurred between games of a doubleheader.
They were immediately, roundly and robustly booed by other fans from the left-wing city. Some fans tried to yank down the banner, while others gave the men the finger.
Then security got involved.
Video of the incident showed several officers descending on the men, angrily confronting them and confiscating the banner before they toss them out of the ballpark.
In fairness to the cops, the men apparently wanted the police involved.
The Blaze reported that one of the pro-Trumpers appeared to be Don Cini, who on Twitter refers to himself as a “Guerilla Marketer, Founder of OperationFlagDrop and ‘Professional Provacatuer.'”
Cini posted his own bodycam footage of the incident on YouTube. During the tussle with Yankees security, he repeatedly tells the employee to “get the cops.” He also says to his partner that they’re “waiting for the police.”
Also on the video, Cini shouts “MAGAAA!” as the boos pour forth while the banner flutters, and retorts, “Soy boys everywhere!”
The video then shows Cini and his partner confronted by a uniformed NYPD officer and others who appear to be from the department’s Special Operations unit. Cini’s partner is handcuffed and both are escorted out of the stadium. Cini apparently got his banner back after getting the toss.
Liberals, of course, were appalled by the stunt. But Cini had some support on Twitter.
One fan wrote, “Probably as peaceful as it could have been when doing this inside a private stadium. The crazy Left, though, probably wants to create a ‘May 27 Commission’ to investigate you.”
