North Korea has provided a glimpse into a clandestine facility used to produce weapons-grade uranium. State media reported that leader Kim Jong Un visited the site and called for a significant increase in the country’s nuclear arsenal.
It remains unclear whether the facility is located at the main Yongbyon nuclear complex, but this marks the first time North Korea has publicly disclosed a uranium-enrichment facility site since 2010.
The revelation is seen as a tactic to pressure the U.S. and its allies. However, images released by North Korean media offer valuable insights for experts trying to estimate the nation’s nuclear capabilities.

According to the official Korean Central News Agency, during his visit, Kim expressed immense satisfaction with North Korea’s nuclear advancements.
KCNA’s photos depicted Kim receiving briefings from scientists while walking alongside long lines of tall gray tubes. However, KCNA withheld information regarding the date and location of Kim’s visit.
