A 30-year-old Charlotte, North Carolina man, Ernesto Javier Reina, was issued a citation to appear in court on Saturday for illegally spearing an angelfish in the Florida Keys.

Middle Keys Marine Deputy Luis Guiardinu discovered Reina with the illegally speared fish near Duck Key around 3 p.m.

Reina was also found to be lacking the necessary marine life endorsement/special activity license required for harvesting certain marine species that must be kept alive.
