Demarco McLucas, 22, a known member of the Crips gang, was sentenced to 77 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon. McLucas pled guilty to the charge on November 29, 2023.
Fayetteville police officers discovered the illegal firearms at McLucas’ residence while serving a warrant on February 22, 2023. The seized items included a stolen loaded handgun, high-capacity magazines, ammunition, drugs, and evidence of McLucas possessing other firearms, including an AR-15 style rifle and guns with potential illegal modifications.

A handgun found in McLucas’ possession was linked to multiple shooting scenes in Fayetteville through ballistic testing.
This conviction is part of the ongoing Violent Crime Action Plan (VCAP), a multi-agency initiative aimed at reducing violent crime through targeted enforcement, intelligence sharing, and community engagement.
