Nighttime Lane Closures On I-275 Express And SR 690 Gateway Expressway In Pinellas County

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – rivers in Pinellas County should be aware of scheduled nighttime closures on the I-275 Express Lanes and SR 690 (Gateway Expressway) ramps from Friday, March 21st, through Friday, March 28th, weather permitting.

I-275 Express Lanes Closure:

  • The northbound and/or southbound I-275 Express Lanes may be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Detour: Drivers should use the I-275 general use (free) travel lanes.

SR 690 Ramp Closures:

  • The westbound SR 690 exit ramp onto northbound US 19 may be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • Detour: Traffic will be directed to exit onto westbound 118th Avenue N, continue west on 118th Avenue N, turn right onto northbound Frontage Road, and then use the entrance ramp onto northbound US 19.
  • The southbound US 19 exit ramp onto eastbound SR 690 may be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • Detour: Exit at Ulmerton Road, go south on Frontage Road, turn left onto eastbound 118th Avenue N, and use the left lane entrance ramp onto eastbound SR 690.
  • The eastbound SR 690 Express Lane entrance ramp onto northbound I-275 may be closed from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • Detour: Drivers can use the general use (free) entrance ramp to the right of the Express Lane ramp into the free lanes of northbound I-275.

These closures are scheduled to occur on Friday night, March 21st, and Sunday, March 23rd, through Friday, March 28th. Drivers are advised to plan their routes accordingly and be aware of the posted detours.
