TAMPA, Fla. – Motorists traveling on southbound I-75 in Tampa should be aware of upcoming nightly closures of the exit ramp to SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard).

Starting tonight, Wednesday, January 22nd, the southbound I-75 ramp at Exit 260 will be closed from 12:01 AM to 5:00 AM each night through Friday, January 24th. These closures are necessary to allow construction crews to safely perform concrete work as part of the ongoing I-75 ramp configuration and interchange modifications.

During the ramp closures, drivers will be detoured around the work zone. The detour route will involve continuing south on I-75, exiting at Exit 257 (SR 60), turning right onto westbound SR 60, turning right onto northbound US 301, and continuing north to SR 574.

Important Reminders:

  • Nightly Closures: The ramp will be closed from 12:01 AM to 5:00 AM.
  • Detour Signage: Electronic message boards and signage will be in place to guide motorists through the detour.
  • Exercise Caution: Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling through the work zone and be alert for construction workers and equipment.

These temporary closures are part of a larger project aimed at improving traffic flow and safety on I-75. While the closures may cause some inconvenience, the long-term benefits will include a more efficient and modern interchange.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and allow extra travel time during the overnight hours.
