The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a disturbance in the southwestern Caribbean Sea that has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression late this weekend or early next week.
This system is expected to bring heavy rain to portions of the western Caribbean, regardless of whether it strengthens into a tropical cyclone.
Southwestern Caribbean Sea: A broad area of low pressure is likely to form, with a 70% chance of becoming a tropical depression as it moves northward.

Northeastern Caribbean Sea: A trough of low pressure near Puerto Rico has a low chance of development but could still bring heavy rain to the northern Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, eastern Cuba, and the southeastern Bahamas.
North Atlantic: A non-tropical low-pressure system near the Azores has a low chance of subtropical development but is not expected to pose an immediate threat to land.
The Hurricane Center will continue to monitor these systems and provide updates. Stay informed and be prepared.
