A 19-year-old man from New York was killed in a car accident on South Lecanto Highway on Friday around 9 am.
The man driving a Nissan Altima southbound lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road north of West Black Diamond Circle. The car hit the west shoulder and collided with a concrete power pole.

The driver was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by Florida Highway Patrol.
