The station manager of the post office in New York, has been indicted on charges of wire fraud, misappropriation of postal funds, and making false entries and reports.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman and Matthew Modafferi, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (USPS-OIG).
According to the indictment, Emilio Chirico, 56, the station manager of the DeWitt Post Office, allegedly stole $81,553.94 worth of stamps from the DeWitt Post Office between January 2021 and March 2023.

To conceal the theft, he is accused of falsifying postal records. Chirico has held the position of station manager since March 2012.
If convicted, Chirico faces severe penalties, including a maximum sentence of 30 years in federal prison, a fine of up to $1 million, and up to five years of supervised release. Sentencing would be determined based on federal statutes, U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, and other relevant factors.
