A New York man has been found guilty of murdering his neighbor and attempting to conceal the heinous crime. The case, which has captivated the local community, has now reached a somber conclusion, with the perpetrator facing significant prison time for his actions.
On the morning of June 27, 2022, a dispute erupted between 64-year-old Alva Parsons and his 29-year-old neighbor, Charles “Chuckie” Rothenburg, in Parsons’ home in the town of Sandy Creek, Oswego County.
The altercation turned violent, and Parsons fatally shot Rothenburg in the neck. The bullet lodged in Rothenburg’s brain, causing his untimely demise.
After killing Rothenburg, Parsons did not stop there. He proceeded to drag the victim’s body into a bedroom and hid it under a pile of clothes, attempting to conceal his heinous act.
However, Parsons’ attempts to cover up the crime did not end there. He also threatened an eyewitness, warning her against leaving his residence and potentially revealing the grisly truth.
The tragic incident did not go unnoticed. Someone contacted the authorities, requesting a welfare check on Rothenburg.
Law enforcement officials launched a search that lasted for two days before receiving a tip that the victim might be in Parsons’ home. Upon searching the property, they discovered Rothenburg’s body, leading to Parsons’ arrest.
