A New York appeals court agreed Monday to postpone collection of former President Donald Trump’s $454 million civil fraud judgment if he pays $175 million within ten days.

If he does, the collection clock will halt, and the state will be unable to seize the expected Republican presidential nominee’s assets while he appeals.

The development occurred shortly before New York Attorney General Letitia James was due to begin efforts to collect the judgment.

“If defendants were truly unable to provide an undertaking, they at a minimum should have consented to have their real-estate interests held by Supreme Court to satisfy the judgment,” the filing stated.
