WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – New River Elementary School was placed on temporary alert as a precaution on Monday while Pasco County Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a suspicious package found on campus.
The package was quickly removed from the school grounds and determined to be safe following an evaluation by authorities. A comprehensive search of the area revealed no additional suspicious items.

School officials and law enforcement emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and encouraged students and the community to report any unusual activities or circumstances to authorities.
Classes resumed as normal following the investigation.
