HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 38-year-old New Port Richey man suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash around 9:30 p.m. on Mariner Boulevard in Spring Hill.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver fled the scene on foot following the crash.
Troopers say a Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on Jacqueline Road when it collided with a pedestrian pushing a shopping cart while walking in the travel lane west of Mariner Boulevard.

Following the collision, the adult female driver fled the scene and abandoned the 2004 Ford F150 on Star Road.
