New Port Richey Man Killed After Crashing Into Light Pole Overnight

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A New Port Richey man was killed in a crash that happened around 10:40 pm on Thursday.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a Toyota Corolla, driven by a 38-year-old New Port Richey man, traveled eastbound on SR-56 and entered the curved entrance ramp to southbound I-75.

While traversing the ramp, the driver failed to negotiate the curve, which resulted in the vehicle traveling to the east shoulder, where it struck a yield sign and a large light pole in successive order. 

Troopers say the driver suffered fatal injuries at the scene of the crash.
