PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A pedestrian was killed Thursday at around 12:20 am while attempting to cross State Road (SR) 54 west of Highland Loop.
The crash involved a Hyundai Elantra driven by a 19-year-old man from New Port Richey and a Toyota Corolla driven by a 68-year-old Holiday woman. Both vehicles were traveling westbound on SR-54.
According to reports, a 44-year-old man from New Port Richey attempted to cross the highway and was struck by both vehicles in succession. The pedestrian tragically suffered fatal injuries at the scene.

The drivers of both vehicles were not injured during the incident.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
