Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are locked in a closely contested battle across seven crucial battleground states, according to a new Emerson College/Hill poll released Thursday, just weeks before the presidential election.
Trump holds a narrow lead in Arizona with 50%, as well as in North Carolina and Wisconsin, where he is at 49%.
Harris trails closely in these states, with 47% in Arizona, 48% in North Carolina, and 48% in Wisconsin.

However, Harris has a slight edge in Georgia at 49%, Michigan at 50%, and Nevada at 49%, while Trump is close behind at 48% in each of these states.
The race remains a dead heat in Pennsylvania, where both Trump and Harris are tied at 48%.
“The race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump continues to be tight, within each state’s margin of error,” Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said.

“Harris leads Trump among independents in each state, with the exception of Nevada, where Trump leads 50% to 44%. There is also a stark gender divide, similar to that of 2020. In six of the seven swing states, Harris leads Trump among women, however, in Arizona, Trump has a two-point edge on Harris among women voters, a group that broke for Biden by about three points in 2020.”
The Emerson College/Hill poll was conducted between Aug. 26 and Aug. 28, sampling likely voters across the key states—the poll’s margin of error varied by state, ranging from 2.8 to 3.6 points.
