TAMPA, Fla. – Two Jewish friends who recently bumped into each other at a Hillsborough County Republican Executive Committee meeting have formed a new Jewish conservative group.
Stuart Brownstein founded the new group, Jewish Republican Caucus, and Scott Levinson, who is also president of the South Tampa Republican Club, is the group’s vice president.
“We want to give a place for Jewish people to feel welcome and share their Republican affiliation and birthright,” Brownstein said. He said he also aspires to take the volunteer group nationwide as a 501(c)4 organization.

The group meets every second Wednesday of the month at a local restaurant.
In April, guest speakers at the group meeting were State Senator Jay Collins and his wife, Layla Collins, who is running for Hillsborough County School Board District 1. The couple addressed questions from USF Jewish students concerned about anti-Semitism.
Brownstein said he is looking for guest speakers and volunteers to help grow the group.
Brownstein can be reached at info@jrc.gop or by calling (813) 797-2843.
