A multi-agency operation in Florida led to the arrest of a New Jersey murder suspect, according to law enforcement.
On January 29, 2025, personnel from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and Ocala Police Department (OPD) Intelligence Units, the U.S. Marshals Florida-Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team (UDEST) responded to a residence on NE 28th Court in Ocala.

They were acting on information that Zafarri Francis, 26, was at the location.
Francis was wanted in connection with a homicide investigation and had active felony warrants out of Hudson County, New Jersey, for theft, receiving stolen property, and firearm possession. He was located at the residence and taken into custody without incident.
Following his arrest, an additional warrant for murder was issued for Francis by Hudson County authorities. He is currently being held at the Marion County Jail pending extradition to New Jersey.
