New Jersey Man Admits To Selling Arsenal And Narcotics To Undercover Cops

Carlo M. De Leon De Jesus, 28, of Newark, New Jersey, has admitted to multiple firearms and narcotics trafficking offenses, U.S. Attorney John Giordano announced. De Leon De Jesus entered his guilty plea before U.S. District Judge Robert Kirsch in Trenton federal court.

De Leon De Jesus pleaded guilty to an Information charging him with dealing firearms without a license, transferring firearms to an out-of-state resident, firearms trafficking, and conspiracy to distribute narcotics. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 28, 2025.

According to court documents and statements made in court, De Leon De Jesus sold firearms and narcotics to law enforcement on multiple occasions between July 2023 and September 2023.

The sales included a pistol, a semiautomatic handgun, a short-barrel rifle, an AK variant-style rifle, fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine.

The charges carry significant potential penalties.

Dealing firearms without a license and transferring firearms to an out-of-state resident each carry a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Firearms trafficking carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The conspiracy to distribute controlled substances charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.
