HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is investigating a tragic murder-suicide that occurred Wednesday evening in the 18000 block of Royal Forest Drive in New Tampa.
At 6:31 p.m. on December 18, HCSO’s Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting a shooting at the residence. Upon arrival, deputies discovered 67-year-old Steven Glantz suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Glantz was transported to a nearby hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Surveillance footage from the area captured a suspect approaching Glantz’s home, followed by the sound of multiple gunshots. The same individual was later seen fleeing the scene on foot.

A search of the area, conducted with the assistance of HCSO’s K-9 Section, led deputies to 66-year-old Timothy Lobianco, who was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Lobianco was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to investigators, Glantz and Lobianco were neighbors. However, the circumstances leading to the fatal shooting remain under investigation.
“Our hearts go out to the victim’s family during this unimaginable loss,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “This tragic event serves as a painful reminder of the devastating effects of senseless violence on our community. HCSO is committed to supporting the grieving families as they navigate this incredibly difficult time.”
