Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody raised more than $283,000 in cash from Aug. 27 to Sept. 2 for her political committee and campaign, with $200,000 coming from the Washington, D.C.-based Republican Attorneys General Association, according to newly filed finance reports.
The committee Friends of Ashley Moody raised $245,000 during the period, including the contribution from the national association.
Moody’s committee had about $5.4 million in cash on hand as of Sept. 2. Meanwhile, Moody raised $38,065 for her campaign account during the period and had $1.51 million on hand.

In addition to the cash contributions, Moody’s campaign received $37,819 in in-kind contributions from the Republican Party of Florida that covered expenses such as staff members and consulting services.
Moody will face Democrat Aramis Ayala in the November election.
Ayala, a former state attorney in Orange and Osceola counties, raised $3,692 for her campaign account during the period and had about $19,300 on hand, her finance report shows.
