NASCAR driver Brandon Brown - of “Let’s go Brandon” fame - said recently he was struggling to find sponsors, as the Cancel Culture seemed to be seeking retribution for his name becoming a conservative rallying cry.

NASCAR Prohibits “Let’s Go Brandon” Sponsor, Reversing An Earlier Decision

Stock car driver Brandon Brown is going to need a fresh paint job on his new ride – just days after it got a makeover.

NASCAR officials have rejected Brown’s new sponsor, LGBcoin.io, a cryptocurrency, according to multiple recent news reports.

Apparently, the suits who run stock car racing couldn’t handle the company’s reference to “Let’s go Brandon,” the G-rated euphemism that conjures the chant “F–k Joe Biden.”

That became popular among conservatives in October after an NBC Sports reporter, Kelli Stavast, in a fit of political correctness, announced that fans at Talladega Superspeedway were chanting “Let’s go Brandon,” when they were really saying “F–k Joe Biden,” as she interviewed Brown following his first win on NASCAR’s Xfinity circuit.

“After the announcement went live on Thursday morning, NASCAR acknowledged to us late that afternoon that we had received approval but that they now needed to discuss this at a higher level,” Max Marcucci, a spokesman for Brown, told Fox Business Channel.

But later a NASCAR spokesman said Brown “jumped the gun” – a comment that conflicted with information Brown’s team had received from NASCAR.

Marcucci provided Fox Business a statement with an “unambiguous” email from a NASCAR Racing Operations official who indicated LGBcoin.io was approved as Brown’s main sponsor.

That email was dated Dec. 26, four days before Brown went public with his new partnership.

As The Free Press reported, Brown showed off the deal with a photo of his No. 68 Camaro, whose pink-and-black scheme from last season was replaced by a red, white, and blue theme. The car’s rear fenders were emblazoned with the company logo LGBcoin.io in bold blue letters.

In a statement last week, James Koutoulas, LGBcoin HODLer and founder of Typhoon Capital Management said in part, “Brandon is truly America’s Driver. We are proud to support Brandon this season, to help him continue his American dream. If we do our job right, when you think of us, and you hear, ‘Let’s Go Brandon,’ you’ll think and feel, ‘Let’s Go America.’”

Yahoo Sports reported that NASCAR had told Brown in November it would not approve a sponsorship associated with the LGB craze, even though it played off his name.

NASCAR President Steve Phelps said, “We do not want to associate ourselves with politics, the left or the right.”

Yet in 2020 NASCAR allowed Bubba Wallace, the sport’s only black driver, to race with a Black Lives Matter paint scheme on his car, even amid the violence stirred up in many cities by BLM activists.

Marcucci said Brown’s team will continue working with NASCAR to try to reach an agreement.
