TAMPA, Fla. – Attempting to request a photo with rapper Nardo Wick, a fan received much more than he bargained for. He was attacked in a vicious assault that hospitalized the 20-year-old man and prompted a police investigation into the incident.
On Monday, November 27, 2023, at approximately 1:17 a.m., following a concert at Club Skye in Tampa, George Obregon Jr., 20, attempted to approach the performer, Nardo Wick, for a photo when individuals sucker-punched the victim.
Immediately following the incident, the victim was transported to a hospital located outside of the county, where the report was later made, police say.

Following the report being filed on Monday, Tampa Police immediately began their investigation.
Michelle Obregon, the mother of the victim, asked witnesses to come forward along with an Instagram video of the incident.
“My son wanted a stupid (expletive) picture with his favorite artist … and this is what he gets,” she said. “As a mother, I am begging you to help get justice for George Obregon Jr. Anyone who knows my son knows he is the sweetest and gentlest kid ever. No drugs, alcohol, gang, nothing! I am dying here and my (expletive) heart is hurting so bad I am sick to my stomach.”
At this time, the victim remains in critical but stable condition, police say.
“Detectives are aware of the videos circulating social media and are interested in speaking to anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information that would assist in identifying the suspects,” said the Tampa Police Department.
