According to Leesburg News, when officers gave Perez a trespass notice, he laid down on the ground, refusing to leave the parking lot. The outlet said, “He refused to get in the patrol car and tensed up his body, kicking and biting the officers as they attempted to put him into the police car.”

A struggle ensued after officers could get Perez into the patrol car.

Perez started kicking the patrol car window, and when an officer opened the door, Perez “lunged at him.” Officers used a restraining device to subdue the man. Perez sustained minor injuries in the struggle and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.

According to Leesburg News, Perez was restained in a hospital bed and defecated on himself once at the hospital. When the officer released a handcuff so that Perez could clean himself, he pulled away from the officer, and a new struggle began.

The officer yelled for help, and a male nurse rushed to the scene. All three ended up on the floor. During the struggle, Perez then bit the male nurse, and other officers assisted in subduing the man.

Leesburg News noted that “Several officers and the nurse had excrement on them.”

Perez was transported to Lake County Jail, at which point investigators learned that Perez tossed a fire extinguisher through a laundry room window at a housing complex earlier in the morning.

Perez was booked on multiple charges, including; Burglary, Theft, Trespass, Criminal Mischief, Battery On Officer, and Resisting.

Perez is currently held on a $23,000 bond and scheduled in court on June 13 at 8:30 am.
