A Florida man, who was naked, has been arrested and is facing three felony charges after police say he attacked a woman with a machete because she didn’t have a crack pipe.
45-year-old Roberto Hercules was arrested on Friday by Miami-Dade police, according to Local 10.
Police say Hercules was completely naked wearing only a cowboy hat and painted fingernails when the attack happened last Tuesday in Medley, Florida.
According to investigators, the woman was riding her bike in the area of Northwest 74th Street and South River Drive when Hercules asked her for a crack pipe.
Officers said Hercules attacked after the woman said she did not have a crack pipe.
According to police, Hercules hit the woman with a machete on her head and left arm, while the victim jumped from her bike and ran.
The woman was hospitalized and in stable condition with a fractured skull, broken arm, and a minor brain bleed.
Police caught up with Hercules sleeping in a tent in Hialeah on Friday, naked with painted nails. Investigators located two cowboy hats in the man’s tent.
Hercules reportedly told police that he wanted to “get shot” but surrendered peacefully.
The victim was able to pick Hercules out of a photo lineup from the hospital.
Hercules faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery with a weapon, and attempted armed robbery.
The victim is expected to make a full recovery.
