TAMPA, Fla. – A multi-vehicle crash on I-275 southbound near Westshore Boulevard resulted in minor injuries and traffic disruptions Monday morning, March 24, 2025.
According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 9:34 a.m. and involved a Mercedes van and a Freightliner truck.
The Mercedes van, driven by a 47-year-old Land O Lakes man, was traveling southbound in the outside center lane of I-275. Simultaneously, a Freightliner truck, driven by an 18-year-old Largo man, was traveling southbound in the inside center lane.

The crash was reportedly triggered when an unknown vehicle cut in front of the Mercedes van. To avoid a collision, the van driver swerved left, resulting in a collision with the Freightliner truck. The impact caused the Freightliner truck to veer into the center median and overturn.
The Mercedes van came to a controlled stop on the inside paved shoulder. The driver of the Mercedes van was uninjured. However, the 18-year-old driver of the Freightliner truck sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The incident caused temporary traffic delays on I-275 southbound as authorities worked to clear the scene.
