POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Polk City woman was arrested Saturday afternoon at a Mulberry Walmart after attempting to steal over $400 worth of merchandise and providing a false name to law enforcement.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Walmart located in Mulberry at approximately 2:30 p.m. on March 8th, following a report of a retail theft suspect detained by store security.

Upon arrival, a deputy made contact with the suspect, who initially provided a false name and date of birth. However, the deputy quickly determined the suspect’s true identity as 54-year-old Tobi Willis of Polk City.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Willis attempted to steal merchandise valued at over $400. She concealed some items in a bag and took clothing into the restroom, where she allegedly put the stolen garments on under her own clothes.

Willis was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail. She faces charges of retail theft and providing false identification to a law enforcement officer.
