POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Mulberry man faces multiple charges, including two felonies, after a traffic stop revealed a counterfeit license plate and other driving violations, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).

During the subsequent traffic stop, the driver was identified as 40-year-old Efrain Felipe Diaz of Mulberry. Diaz was found to be driving without a valid driver’s license or motor vehicle insurance. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle registration he provided was for a Chevrolet, not the Ford SUV he was driving. As suspected, the license plate on the Ford was determined to be counterfeit.
