CLEARWATER, Fl.a – Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a crash late Wednesday on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard that involved a police department vehicle.
The crash occurred at 11:39 p.m. at Gulf-to-Bay and McMullen Booth Road.
The police vehicle, a 2022 unmarked Ford Explorer, attempted to turn left onto Gulf-to-Bay from southbound McMullen Booth Road when a westbound motorcycle ran the red light at a high rate of speed, causing the collision.

The motorcyclist and the police sergeant were taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for treatment of their injuries.
The motorcyclist suffered multiple broken bones, but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The police sergeant sustained minor injuries. The intersection was closed for about four hours.
