Motorcyclist Killed Overnight In St. Petersburg Crash

ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – A 39-year-old man was killed in a crash that happened around 10:30 pm in St. Petersburg Friday.

According to police, a black Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by a 39-year-old man, was eastbound on 38th Avenue North, approaching 34th Street North.

Investigators say a red Chevy Traverse was westbound on 38th Avenue North, approaching 34th Street North.

The Traverse made a left turn onto 34th Street North into the motorcycle’s path of travel, and he crashed into the front passenger corner of the Traverse.

The motorcycle driver was transported to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Traverse suffered no injuries and was released from the crash scene after speaking to investigators.

Police say this crash is still under investigation and the man’s identity will be released after notification of next of kin.
