Motorcyclist Dies In Late-Night St. Petersburg Crash On 22nd Ave North

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A fatal motorcycle accident occurred just before midnight on Thursday in the 4700 block of 22nd Avenue North, according to local authorities.

The motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when, for reasons still under investigation, he struck a traffic sign. The impact resulted in the rider being ejected from the motorcycle and onto the roadway.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene but were unable to revive the individual. He was pronounced deceased at the location of the crash.

Authorities are currently withholding the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of his next of kin.

The St. Petersburg Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
