Motorcycle Crash In Riverview Results In Tragic Loss Of Unborn Child

RIVERVIEW, Fla. – A pregnant woman lost her unborn child following a motorcycle accident on State Road 574 Sunday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 7:13 AM at the intersection of SR-574 and Sydney Dover Road. A Toyota Venza, driven by a 57-year-old Valrico man, failed to stop at a red light and collided with a Suzuki motorcycle that was stopped at the intersection.

The motorcyclist, a 35-year-old Plant City man, sustained minor injuries. His passenger, a 37-year-old pregnant woman, also from Plant City, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Tragically, her unborn child did not survive the accident.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota Venza were unharmed.

The investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed at this time.
