NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. – A moped rider sustained critical injuries in a collision on Main Street in New Port Richey Tuesday morning.
The New Port Richey Police Department responded to the scene at 6105 Main Street at approximately 10:30 a.m.
An unidentified male, operating a 150cc moped westbound on Main Street, collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle. The rider was not wearing a helmet and suffered critical injuries as a result of the impact.

The rider was trauma-alerted to Bayonet Point Hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Authorities are currently working to identify the individual.
No other injuries were reported at the scene. The New Port Richey Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
