MONROE COUNTY, Fla. – Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay announced Monday that his office has returned over $4 million in excess funds to local governments, demonstrating a commitment to fiscal responsibility and efficient use of taxpayer dollars.
A total of $4,061,250 was returned to various Keys governments, including:
- $3,554,390 to Monroe County
- $82,555 to the Village of Islamorada
- $122,978 to the City of Marathon
- $301,327 to the Key West International Airport

“I am committed to being a good steward of the taxpayer’s money,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay. “We must spend every dollar wisely in addition to providing professional law enforcement services to Monroe County.”
