A Missouri woman is facing felony charges after allegedly lacing her husband’s Mountain Dew with a toxic concoction of weed killer and insecticide.

Michelle Yevonne Peters, 47, was arrested on Monday by the Laclede County Sheriff’s Office after her husband reported suspicion of poisoning.

The victim, whose name has not been released, told deputies he believed his wife had been tampering with his drinks for over a month, culminating in a noticeable taste difference in his usual Mountain Dew.

The victim provided video surveillance to the sheriff’s office, indicating that Michelle Peters was tampering with the Mountain Dew stored in a garage refrigerator.

According to court documents, Peters initially denied spiking the beverage.

However, upon further questioning, she admitted to adding an insecticide from the basement to the soda “to be mean” after feeling unappreciated for a birthday party thrown for her husband.

Peters now faces charges of first-degree domestic assault and felony armed criminal action. If convicted, she could face up to 15 years in prison for each charge.

She is being held in Laclede County Detention Center with no bond.
