Tywon Harris, 21, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for his role in the fatal robbery of a St. Louis County cab driver in 2022.

Harris was one of four teenagers involved in the robbery and subsequent murder of Dewight Price, 54, on April 24, 2022.

According to court documents, Harris instigated the robbery after leaving a party in downtown St. Louis with three other teens. They called for a cab and planned to rob the driver, Dewight Price, upon arrival at their destination.

The teens directed Price to Hazelwood Central High School, believing it to be a secluded location. During the robbery, Price was shot and killed.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Dunkel stated in court that Harris “took the lead in planning” the robbery, which ultimately led to the tragic outcome. All four teenagers involved in the incident have pleaded guilty and have been sentenced.
