Zachary Hovis, a 24-year-old man from St. Peters, Missouri, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to two counts of fentanyl distribution. Hovis admitted to supplying the fentanyl that led to the death of one woman and the hospitalization of another in 2019.
The incident occurred on November 16, 2019, when Hovis sold fentanyl to a woman in a Weldon Spring country club parking lot.
The victim was later found unconscious in a nearby business parking lot, and despite a bystander’s attempt to administer naloxone, she died.
